Converge of GAIS (Group Accident Insurance Scheme) with PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana) w.e.f 1^st June 2017.

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Govt. of India has converged GAIS (Group Accident Insurance Scheme) with PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana) w.e.f 1^st June 2017. The federation has been given the responsibility to implement the PMSBY in fisheries sector consequent as a nodal agency upon the convergence of GAIS w.e.f. 1^st June 2017.  The federation shall undertake the following activities;-

1. Collection of data and preparation of database of all beneficiaries
2. Collection of Central and State share of premium. 100% of the computerization of the scheme
3. Submission of claim papers to the insurance company and keep records of all claims.
4. Opening up of state offices for smooth operation of the scheme.
5. Origination of workshop from time to time to popularize the scheme.
6. Publication of literatures /leaflets etc.

     The scheme is to be implemented through the Oriental Insurance Company Ltd.

     Required data of fishers from 23 states and 5UTs on the flowing excel format so that the cover could be provided in time.
